In Zick Zack, what appear to be hand-painted signs lie on a striped path across the design. The question is who left them and where do the naïve patterns that decorate its inbetween spaces comes from? The Wiener Werkstätte artist Josef Hoffmann is the answer and is the artist responsible for this design from 1907.
