Spectacular Ice Race in Zell am See: Backhausen at the GP Ice Race

Two days of motor sports under extreme conditions - The GP Ice Race in Zell am See: A winter highlight for motor sports fans and everyone who loves the thrill. Specially for this winter event, Backhausen has designed exclusive ponchos, made of high quality fabrics from the Wool Box collection.

The legendary Ice Race in Zell am See has its origins in 1928, when the first skijoring took place in St. Moritz at the Olympic Winter Games, as well as in 1937, when the first motorcycle skijoring took place on the Zeller See. Shortly afterwards, the first races on ice for motorcycles of all classes and automobiles were held, soon also internationally. In 2019, Ferdinand Porsche and Vinzenz Greger relaunched the spectacle and founded the GP Ice Race in Zell am See.

Keep Warm and Enjoy the Show

On February 1st and 2nd, 2020, the GP Ice Race entered the second round of the new edition and Backhausen was on site as a sponsor.
Backhausen designed exclusive ponchos so that the guests of the PS Lounge could warm up and watch the spectacle relaxed until the end. The ponchos were made of Woolmark certified pure new wool fabrics from the collection Wool Box and were provided on the terraces of the Red Bull Energy Station to keep the spectators warm.

In the meantime the GP Ice Race has said goodbye for this year and is looking forward to coming back in 2021 – and so are we!
